Trump administration plans refugee review.
Refugees in the U.S. face new scrutiny. Citing concerns over the quantity and speed of admissions, the Trump administration plans to review hundreds of thousands of refugees admitted under the Biden administration, according to news reports. Refugees, who seek protection against identity-based persecution at home, are already heavily vetted and often wait years to enter. The plan speaks to the White House鈥檚 expansive crackdown on both legal and illegal migration. Mr. Trump has capped refugee admissions at a record low while prioritizing white South Africans.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said women can serve as missionaries at age 18, one year younger than the previous standard. The number of women wanting to serve a mission has risen for 10 years, according to the church. The new policy brings the age for female missionaries in line with that for men, though men's missions are six months longer. The new age standard is one of the first changes announced since the denomination named a new president and prophet, Dallin Oaks, last month.
