'War and Peace' BBC adaptation will star Jim Broadbent, Gillian Anderson

A BBC miniseries adaptation of the classic novel 鈥淲ar and Peace鈥� is moving forward.
The production has begun principal photography and is being directed by 鈥淧eaky Blinders鈥� director Tom Harper, according to . Andrew Davies, who adapted the book 鈥淗ouse of Cards鈥� for the original British series and also adapted such books as 鈥淏ridget Jones鈥� Diary鈥� for the screen, is writing the miniseries adaptation.聽
The cast includes actors such as Jim Broadbent of 鈥淧addington,鈥� 鈥淗annibal鈥� actress Gillian Anderson, Paul Dano of 鈥�12 Years a Slave,鈥� and 鈥淒ownton Abbey鈥� actress Lily James, among many others.
As we previously reported, the BBC鈥檚 Radio 4 broadcast a radio adaptation of 鈥淲ar and Peace鈥� on New Year鈥檚 Day in the UK.
鈥淲ar and Peace鈥� has previously been adapted as a 1956 film starring Audrey Hepburn and Henry Fonda and a 2007 miniseries starring Malcolm McDowell and Cl茅mence Po茅sy, among others.
