'Gone Girl': Parts of the 'Amazing Amy' books from the novel are available as a sample
In 'Gone Girl,' character Amy's parents write a book series titled 'Amazing Amy.' Fans can now download a preview of the book 'The Complete Amazing Amy' on iTunes.
The 'Amazing Amy' books are listed as being authored by the fictional characters Rand and Marybeth Elliott.
Fans of Gillian Flynn鈥檚 novel 鈥淕one Girl鈥� will remember the 鈥淎mazing Amy鈥� book series, novels written by Amy Dunne鈥檚 parents about a girl named Amy who always seemed to do everything right.
Artist Kirk Van Wormer created various book covers for the film adaptation of 鈥淕one,鈥� with titles of the books including 鈥淎mazing Amy Meets Her Match鈥� and 鈥淎mazing Amy and the Big Day.鈥� Through iTunes, 鈥淕one鈥� fans can now see a preview of a book titled 鈥淭he Complete Amazing Amy,鈥� which is presented as if Rand and Marybeth Elliott, Amy鈥檚 psychologist parents, were real people. (The book cover reads that they are 鈥渢wo psychologists 鈥� who are parents just like you!鈥�)

According to iTunes, the preview, which is free, consists of 11 pages altogether.
Van Wormer told about the experience of creating the book covers for the film, which he said was a process both Flynn and the movie鈥檚 director, David Fincher, were involved in. He said it didn鈥檛 start out like he expected.听
鈥淚 have to tell you, the coolest and weirdest thing is to get a phone call from David Fincher saying 鈥業鈥檇 like you to do some illustrations for my next movie,鈥� and then to find out that there鈥檚 no dead bodies or gore,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 have a background in horror, so I was like, 鈥楢lright, I鈥檓 ready to go, David Fincher!鈥� And then he wanted cute, adorable children鈥檚 illustrations that remind us of the seventies.鈥�
