The Philadelphia A鈥檚 defeat the Cleveland Indians, 17-15.
Tom Glass of the Philadelphia A鈥檚 is the beneficiary of one of the greatest come-from-behind victories in major-league history. The A鈥檚 score 13 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Indians. Glass had relieved in the sixth inning, but managed to win the game in a career that spanned only five innings.
Additional facts:
- A鈥檚 manager Connie Mack released Glass a week later.
- Philadelphia鈥檚 comeback has been matched by only two other teams, the Chicago White Sox, who in 1911 were the first to erase a 14-run deficit, and by Cleveland, which did the same versus Seattle a century later, in 2011.
