The 1965 TV special directed by Bill Melendez follows Charlie Brown, who is feeling as if he's missing the true meaning of Christmas, and his friends, who are putting on a Christmas show. Thanks to his friend Linus and a tiny tree, Charlie is able to discover what the holiday is all about.
When the special first aired, it included sections showing the program's sponsor, Coca-Cola. These are now often removed.
The title of the song Schroeder plays on the piano and to which the characters dance is "Linus and Lucy."
