John Lasseter's 1995 movie follows Woody, a toy cowboy who is the favorite possession of his owner, Andy. Woody feels threatened when Andy's birthday arrives and Andy receives a cool new toy: astronaut Buzz Lightyear.
"Toy Story" was the first feature-length film ever animated fully with computers.
Lasseter said he based Andy's affection for Woody, who is made to speak by pulling a string, for his own childhood love for a Casper the Friendly Ghost toy which spoke in a similar way and which he would bring to bed with him.
