The 2008 CGI-animation adaptation of the film, which starred Jim Carrey as the title character, Steve Carell as the mayor, and Carol Burnett as the Sour Kangaroo, was released to positive reviews and was a success at the box office. The movie features numerous nods to other Seuss stories, including green eggs being served at the mayor's breakfast table and Who children making a snowman that's shaped like the Grinch.
