Thailand and Cambodia agreed to an unconditional ceasefire.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as head of the ASEAN regional bloc, announced the agreement Monday after talks. The ceasefire takes effect at midnight local time Tuesday. Military and officials from both countries will meet to defuse tensions. The clashes began last Thursday after a land mine explosion wounded Thai soldiers. The violence has killed at least 35 people and displaced more than 260,000.
