Employers need quick ways to sort through the thousands of r茅sum茅s they receive. One favorite method is the keyword search. If you use the keywords companies are looking for, your r茅sum茅 has a better chance of standing out, job-search advisers say. Here are five r茅sum茅-writing tips to take advantage of keywords:

Companies are looking to fill specific positions, so they search for job titles that match the vacancy. Popular keyword terms these days are 鈥渕anager,鈥 鈥渕anagement,鈥 鈥渟upervisor,鈥 and 鈥減roduct manager,鈥 according to a study released this week by , which surveyed the search patterns of 1,500 employers.

The trick in r茅sum茅 writing is to highlight the job titles of your previous positions that most closely resemble the job you鈥檙e applying for 鈥 and to list relevant jobs higher up in your r茅sum茅, since there is a hierarchy of search results.
