"Go Down Together" author Guinn explores the life of the notorious Charles Manson, a journey which includes speaking with Manson's sister and cousin, sources not tapped in earlier books about Manson. The book also considers the time in which Manson lived, including the Black Panthers and the Vietnam War. "There was a lot more information about Manson's early life," Nelson says of the book. "I couldn't believe that I couldn't stop reading it.... it's a long book that never drags."
