Jimmy Buffett first published a book of short stories called 鈥淭ales from Margaritaville鈥� in 1989, and has continued to publish books since, several of which have spent time on bestseller lists. He鈥檚 also tried his hand at children鈥檚 books, which he co-wrote with his daughter. Fellow musician-turned-novelist Kinky Friedman reviewed Buffett鈥檚 2004 novel 鈥淎 Salty Piece of Land鈥� for The New York Times, calling it 鈥渁 tangy tale, at times turbulent and unpredictable as the ocean, at times as wistful as the whitecaps on the waves.鈥�
