Jingnan Peng produces news videos and audio podcasts, and occasionally writes for the Monitor. His podcast series on accent, language, and identity, called "Say That Again?", was a finalist for an Online News Association award. He previously covered breaking news for Agence France-Presse (AFP) in New York City, and produced news videos on cluture and technology for Quartz.
A Beijing native, Jing spent much of his childhood competing in math Olympics. He studied literature and film as an undergraduate at Yale, and went on to study journalism at Columbia. Fluent in Mandarin and French, he is working on his Japanese and German.
