The sequel to Stephen King's 'The Shining' gets a release date

Thirty-six years after Stephen King published 'The Shining,' his sequel 鈥 titled 'Doctor Sleep' 鈥 is scheduled to come out in September 2013.

Legendary horror author Stephen King has announced a release date for his sequel to his 1977 novel 鈥淭he Shining,鈥 titled 鈥淒octor Sleep.鈥

鈥淒octor Sleep,鈥 which will follow Danny Torrance as an adult, will be released Sept. 24, 2013.

In the sequel, Danny is now a worker at a nursing home who becomes known as "Doctor Sleep" because of his psychic abilities, which he uses to give comfort to those who are dying. After meeting a young girl with powers like his own, he embarks on a quest to save her from a tribe called the True Knot which ingests the psychic powers of children known as the 鈥渟hining.鈥
