The sequel to Stephen King's 'The Shining' gets a release date

Thirty-six years after Stephen King published 'The Shining,' his sequel 鈥� titled 'Doctor Sleep' 鈥� is scheduled to come out in September 2013.

Legendary horror author Stephen King has announced a release date for his sequel to his 1977 novel 鈥�The Shining,鈥� titled 鈥淒octor Sleep.鈥�

鈥淒octor Sleep,鈥� which will follow Danny Torrance as an adult, will be released Sept. 24, 2013.

In the sequel, Danny is now a worker at a nursing home who becomes known as "Doctor Sleep" because of his psychic abilities, which he uses to give comfort to those who are dying. After meeting a young girl with powers like his own, he embarks on a quest to save her from a tribe called the True Knot which ingests the psychic powers of children known as the 鈥渟hining.鈥�
