What carries us through
A poem.
July 17, 2013
ÌýWe lie on the driveway, side by side,
ÌýÌýÌý old sheet pulled up
ÌýÌýto our shoulders to fend off the mosquitoes, Ìý
Ìýand look Ìý
Ìýfor shooting stars against the August sky.
(I see one – there! Did you see it?) Ìý
Too hot to touch, I feel for your hand,
Ìýhold a single finger, Ìý
Ìýlove you, Ìý
Ìýbigger than the sky, Ìý
Ìýfor taking me outside
Ìýto see.
Editor's note: The Perseid meteor shower will peak the night of Aug. 12.
