'I'm So Excited,' a comedy about a transatlantic flight, never launches
Pedro Almod贸var's first comedy in some time was a promising idea, but the movie disappoints.

Pedro Almod贸var has become such a critics鈥� darling and art-house fave that each new film of his is greeted as an occasion to rejoice. But I haven鈥檛 been aboard the love boat with Almod贸var in a long time, not really since 鈥淲omen on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.鈥�
His new film, 鈥淚鈥檓 So Excited!,鈥� promised some of that film鈥檚 hallucinatory giddiness 鈥� it鈥檚 been a long time since Almod贸var made a flat-out comedy 鈥� but this farce set mostly aboard a transatlantic flight stuck in midair never launches. Grade: C (Rated R for strong sexual content including crude references, and drug use.)
