2016 Mazda MX-5 begins US production. How much will it cost?
Th 2016 Mazda MX-5 will have three different price points, depending on trim level. The 2016 Mazda MX-5 just began production and will hit US dealers鈥攁nd the first lucky buyers鈥攍ater this summer.
While we鈥檙e still waiting for our U.S.-spec configurator, we now know exactly how much each trim level of the聽聽will cost to start, as well as the features that come with each.
At $25,735 (including the $820 destination charge), the MX-5 Sport is the most affordable of the ND鈥檚 offerings, and it packs more features than ever before, including: Bluetooth phone and audio; LED headlights and tail lights; cruise control; 16-inch wheels; a six-speed manual transmission; USB input; and more. An automatic transmission is available as a $1,075 extra.聽聽can be added for $130 (but are included with the automatic).
The MX-5 Club, launched at the 2015 New York Auto Show, starts from $29,220 (including the $820 destination charge), and promises a sportier but also more luxurious configuration, with聽聽Connection seven-inch touchscreen-based infotainment; nine-speaker Bose audio; 17-inch gunmetal alloy wheels; front and rear aerodynamic upgrades; and, for manual-transmission cars, a limited-slip rear differential, Bilstein shocks, and front brace.
The MX-5 Grand Touring takes the luxury up a notch, adding leather-trimmed heated seats, Brembo front brakes, and functional aerodynamic upgrades to the side skirts are聽.
At prices like these, the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ will certainly have to take notice--especially with the MX-5聽聽than the Febreze twins.
