Cat food recall hits 26 states. Are you affected?
Cat food recall involving batches of three brands manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods affects cat owners in 26 states. So far, no cat illnesses have been reported as a result of the cat food recall.

Diamond Pet Foods is recalling select batches of cat food sold in 26 states due to low levels of Thiamine (Vitamin B12), a nutrient considered essential for proper neurological function in cats. So far, no health complaints or illnesses have been reported as a result of the recalled cat food, according to Diamond.
The cat food recall includes various sizes of Premium Edge, Diamond Naturals, and 4health dry cat food formulas distributed from the company鈥檚 Columbia, S.C. production facility. The packages were sold in one or more of the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, 聽and West Virginia.
The recalled brands are: Premium Edge Finicky Adult Cat Formula dry cat food, Premium Edge Senior Cat Hairball Management Formula dry cat food, Premium Edge Kitten Formula dry cat food, Diamond Naturals Kitten Formula dry cat food, and 4health All Life Stages Cat Formula dry cat food.
The batches have 鈥淏est by鈥� dates between July 10, 2013 and Jan. 3, 2014. Sizes range from 6 oz. samples to 18 lb. bags.
Thiamine deficiency in cats has been linked to stomach and neurological issues.
