A film adaptation of 鈥淭hose Guys Have All The Fun,鈥 a history of ESPN, is moving forward.聽
According to , 鈥淔un鈥 co-writer James Andrew Miller has been brought on board the project to adapt the book for film. Miller co-wrote the book with Tom Shales, whom he also worked with on the book 鈥淟ive From New York,鈥 which was a chronicle of the NBC comedy show 鈥淪aturday Night Live.鈥
Derek Cianfrance, who previously helmed the 2010 movie 鈥淏lue Valentine鈥 and the 2012 movie 鈥淭he Place Beyond the Pines,鈥 is directing 鈥淔un,鈥 according to Deadline.聽
In a review, Monitor writer Erik Spanberg called the book 鈥淔un鈥 鈥渂loated but bound to succeed鈥. No doubt the authors felt indebted to try to use as much of the material they gathered as possible, but it slows the story. And yet 鈥楾hose Guys Have All the Fun鈥 must be reckoned with鈥. Despite numerous frustrations with some of the interviews 鈥 and some of the section topics, this reader tackled it handily, driven by a combination of nostalgia and curiosity. Plenty of sports fans, I suspect, will share the sentiment.鈥
