'The Bone Clocks' writer David Mitchell will release a new book this fall

The book, 'Slade House,' is reportedly based on a short story Mitchell released on Twitter this summer.

鈥淭he Bone Clocks鈥 writer David Mitchell is coming out with a new novel 鈥 and if you follow him on Twitter, you鈥檝e already received a preview.聽

Mitchell鈥檚 book 鈥淪lade House,鈥 which will be released by Random House in October, reportedly came from a short story titled 鈥淭he Right Sort鈥 that Mitchell published on his Twitter account in July. However, the short format wasn鈥檛 enough for the story, the author said in a .

鈥淪cenes grew, bred and sprouted new scenes until 鈥楾he Right Sort鈥 passed the 6,000 word mark and announced itself as part one of a five-part novel,鈥 Mitchell said.聽

The new novel will take place in the same universe as Mitchell鈥檚 book 鈥淭he Bone Clocks,鈥 according to the , and the book will 鈥渋s the thrilling story of a haunted house and the five individuals who over the course of thirty-five years disappear inside,鈥 Random House said in a statement.聽

Mitchell is also the author of such works as 鈥淐loud Atlas鈥 and 鈥淭he Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet.鈥
