Actor and director James Franco is tackling another literary classic.聽
Franco is starring and directing in a movie version of William Faulkner鈥檚 1929 novel 鈥�The Sound and the Fury.鈥� Franco previously directed and starred in a 2013 adaptation of the Faulkner book 鈥�As I Lay Dying,鈥� which played in New York and then was released via on demand. Franco also directed and starred in an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy book 鈥淐hild of God,鈥� which was released in the US earlier this month.聽
鈥淭he Sound and the Fury鈥� will star Franco and actor Seth Rogen, who starred with Franco in the 2013 comedy 鈥�This Is the End,鈥� and actor Danny McBride, who starred in 鈥淎s I Lay Dying鈥� and 鈥淭his Is the End鈥� with Franco, will both be in the movie, according to , although their roles are not known. Actors Tim Blake Nelson, Joey King of 鈥淔argo,鈥� and Ahna O鈥橰eilly of 鈥淐BGB鈥� will also appear in the film.
鈥淭he Sound and the Fury鈥� will premiere at the Venice Film Festival this September and Franco will also receive the Glory to the Filmmaker Award there, according to .
Faulkner鈥檚 novel was previously adapted as a 1959 movie that starred Yul Brynner and Joanne Woodward.聽
