Uzodinma Iweala鈥檚 novel 鈥淏easts of No Nation鈥 is reportedly being adapted into a movie by Cary Fukunaga of 鈥淭rue Detective鈥 with actor Idris Elba on board to star.
鈥淏easts of No Nation鈥 was published in 2005 and follows an African boy named Agu who becomes a child soldier. called the book 鈥渁 horrifying portrait of war鈥 and wrote that 鈥淎gu鈥檚 narration casts a harrowing spell.鈥澛
Now Fukunaga, director of the acclaimed HBO series 鈥淭rue Detective,鈥 is on board to direct, according to , and 鈥淟uther鈥 actor Idris Elba is said to be starring as the commander of Agu鈥檚 military group.
