Ewan McGregor said to be on board to star in a film version of Philip Roth's 'American Pastoral'
'Salt' director Phillip Noyce is reported to be signed on to direct the film.

Actor Ewan McGregor has reportedly signed on to star in a movie adaptation of Philip Roth鈥檚 novel 鈥�American Pastoral.鈥澛�
According to , 鈥�August: Osage County鈥� actor McGregor will star as Seymour Levov, also known as 鈥淪wede,鈥� whose family is affected by the Vietnam War and the political situatiuon in the 1960s.
According to the the movie will be directed by Phillip Noyce,聽, who helmed the 2010 movie 鈥淪alt鈥� and the 2002 film 鈥淭he Quiet American,鈥� among others. Screenwriter John Romano, of the 2011 movie 鈥淭he Lincoln Lawyer,鈥� is reportedly on board as well.

鈥淧astoral鈥� was first released in 1997 and won the Pulitzer Prize.
