Someone at Bantam Books had the great good sense to republish the first two of Rex Stout鈥檚 great Nero Wolfe classical mysteries, Fer-De-Lance and The League of Frightened Men. Even the dated descriptions and terminology (鈥淚 got into the roadster and drove across town鈥�) are charming, and the stories are as clever as ever. They don鈥檛 make eccentric detectives like Nero Wolf anymore!
