Some 212 of the world's leading climate scientists signed a petition calling for representatives attending the UN climate talks in Bali to make dramatic cuts in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. The , released Thursday, calls for global greenhouse gas emissions to be cut in half by 2050. Such a reduction, the scientists say would give humans an "even-money chance" of avoiding catastrophic climate change, a spokesman for the signatories said.
Reporting from Bali, Indonesia, reporter Peter N. Spotts discusses the resolution.
