World chess semifinals announced for March
The final World Chess Championship elimination match between Soviet grandmasters Vassily Smyslov and Gari Kasparov will start March 9 in Vilnius, in Soviet Lithuania, the World Chess Federation announced Tuesday. The winner will challenge Soviet World Champion Anatoly Karpov for the world title later this year.
