The Congressional Budget Office says the 1983 federal budget put together by Republicans and backed by President Reagan understates the probable federal deficit by some $12.5 billion.
The independent budget arm of Congress estimated the projected deficit in the budget plan now awaiting final, formal approval in the Senate at $116.4 billion, rather than $103.9 billion.
