Libyan oil minister sacked as oil revenues plunge

March 5, 1982

Libya's Col. Muammar Qaddafi dismissed his oil minister in a reorganization of economic posts in the Cabinet, the official Libyan news agency JANA said.

The change coincided with a drastic fall in the country's oil revenues, its main source of income, as a result of a world glut and falling oil prices.
