At convention, Democrats struggle with stereotypes 鈥 of other Democrats

While it's useful to see larger trends of political support, such as white millennials for Bernie, on the streets of Philadelphia there is a far more colorful mosaic.

4. 'There are a lot of young black women ready to Bern it down'

鈥淎nother reporter told me that most Bernie supporters were painted as young white males, and I really didn鈥檛 even know that because most of my friends are Bernie supporters and the majority of them are women of color,鈥 says Morgan Decaur, a Bernie Sanders supporter from New Orleans, at a rally in Philadelphia Tuesday. 鈥淪o it was really interesting to even hear that was 鈥榓 thing.鈥

鈥淚 feel like you can鈥檛 count on the black vote, there are a lot of young black women ready to 鈥楤ern it down.鈥 [As Sanders supporters] We鈥檙e all different 鈥 the ones I know are like me and I鈥檓 pretty sure that the ones everyone else knows are mostly like them. So if anything, it鈥檚 the media seeing the young white men 鈥 you see who you want to see.鈥
