If Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) gets into the race, Senator Ayotte could have trouble winning reelection. But so far, Governor Hassan hasn鈥檛 given the word. She鈥檚 waiting to announce her intentions until after the state legislative session ends later this summer. If Hassan doesn鈥檛 get in, the Democrats have no obvious alternative.
For now, Cook, Sabato, and Rothenberg-Gonzales all call the race lean Republican.
