Mega-wealthy donors, many of them billionaires, are expected to play an unprecedented role in the 2016 presidential race. Here鈥檚 a list of who鈥檚 backing whom so far:

2. Norman Braman: Sen. Marco Rubio (R) of Florida

Mr. Braman of Florida is a billionaire owner of car dealerships and art, and used to own the Philadelphia Eagles. Senator Rubio 鈥渢he candidate of tomorrow.鈥 , Mr. Braman is prepared to invest $10 million in Rubio鈥檚 candidacy. The Rubio group is called the Reclaim America PAC.

Braman has known and admired Rubio since he was a young state legislator in the early 2000s.

鈥淚n Rubio, Braman found a kindred spirit who believed in small government and was the son of immigrants,鈥 the Herald reports. 鈥淏raman鈥檚 mother was a seamstress from Romania and his father a barber from Poland; Rubio鈥檚 mother was a maid and father a bartender 鈥 both from Cuba.鈥

Braman ranks at No. 1,006 on the of the world鈥檚 billionaires, with a net worth of $1.9 billion.
