The 鈥榖illionaire primary鈥: Who鈥檚 backing whom?

Mega-wealthy donors, many of them billionaires, are expected to play an unprecedented role in the 2016 presidential race. Here鈥檚 a list of who鈥檚 backing whom so far:

3. Henry Kravis: former Gov. Jeb Bush (R) of Florida

Some mega-donors get the money flowing into super-PACs by hosting a fundraiser. In February, private equity giant Henry Kravis held an event at his Manhattan home for Mr. Bush with an eye-popping request of $100,000 per person. The reported $4 million raised went to Bush鈥檚 Right to Rise PAC. As long as Bush is an undeclared candidate, he can help raise money for his super-PAC.

鈥淭he price of admission to the event ... surprised even Wall Street veterans used to high-dollar fundraisers,鈥 , calling Bush鈥檚 fundraising approach 鈥渟hock and awe.鈥

Mr. Kravis is co-founder of private equity firm KKR & Co. He is No. 291 on the Forbes list of the world鈥檚 billionaires, worth $5.1 billion.
