Hope Solo gets trial date in assault case

A November trial has been set for U.S. women's goalkeeper聽Hope聽Solo, who is accused of assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew in June.

Solo, who also plays with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League, appeared in court in Kirkland, Washington, on Monday.

In June, she pleaded not guilty to two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence.

KOMO-TV reports her lawyer has filed a motion to dismiss the case. Her lawyer has said聽Solo聽was a victim in the altercation.

A Nov. 4 trial means聽Solo聽won't miss time with the Reign or October's CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.

Solo聽appeared in court accompanied by her husband, former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens.
