Hope Solo, US women's soccer goalkeeper, due in court on domestic violence charge

US. women's soccer goalkeeper聽Hope聽Solo聽is scheduled to appear in court Monday in connection with her聽domestic聽violence聽arrest at her sister's home in Kirkland, in suburban Seattle.
Officers said聽Solo聽was intoxicated early Saturday when she was accused of assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew.
But her lawyer, Todd Maybrown, says she was a victim in the altercation.
Solo聽was booked into jail for investigation of two counts of fourth-degree聽domestic聽violence聽assault, pending her appearance in Kirkland Municipal Court.
The 32-year-old聽Solo聽grew up in Richland and attended the University of Washington. She has won two Olympic gold medals with the US women's national team and also plays with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League.
