In another insult to Mr. Bush, Ch谩vez called him 鈥渢he devil鈥 during a UN General Assembly meeting in September 2006.
鈥淵esterday the devil came here,鈥 he said, referring to Bush鈥檚 speech the previous day.
鈥淩ight here. Right here,鈥 he said as he crossed himself. 鈥淎nd it smells of sulfur still today.鈥
Bush鈥檚 speech included criticism of Iran鈥檚 nuclear program and his broader plan for the Middle East, which Ch谩vez said was further evidence of Bush believing that he was 鈥渙wner of the world.鈥
鈥淚 think we could call a psychiatrist to analyze yesterday鈥檚 statement by the president of the United States,鈥 Ch谩vez said. 鈥淎s the spokesman of imperialism, he came to share his nostrums to try to preserve the current pattern of domination, exploitation, and pillage of the peoples of the world. An Alfred Hitchcock movie could use it as a scenario. I would even propose a title: 鈥楾he Devil鈥檚 Recipe.鈥 鈥
