Hugo Chavez: 10 outrageous things he said about the US

Hugo Chavez, whose death was announced Tuesday, will be remembered worldwide as much for what he said as for what he did during his 14-year rule of Venezuela. From the vitriolic to bizarre, here is a list of 10 outrageous comments he made about the 鈥淵ankee empire鈥 and its leaders.

4. Mr. Danger

At a rally in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2005, President Hugo Ch谩vez holds up a US dollar bill and challenges President Bush to bet which of them will remain in power longer. Mr. Bush was one of the main targets of Ch谩vez鈥檚 criticism.

President George W. Bush was one of Ch谩vez鈥檚 main targets, often being called evil, or a donkey.

During a particularly incensed speech in March 2006, he gave 鈥淢r. Danger鈥 a slew of digs:

鈥淵ou are a coward, a killer, a [perpetrator of] genocide, an alcoholic, a drunk, a liar, an immoral person, Mr. Danger,鈥 he said during the nationally televised speech. 鈥淵ou are the worst, Mr. Danger. The worst of this planet ... a psychologically sick man, I know it.鈥
