Julie Delpy is best known for her acting collaborations with Ethan Hawke in Richard Linklater鈥檚 鈥淏efore鈥 trilogy, but she also has directed as well as starred in several movies of her own.
The latest, 鈥淟olo,鈥 is a mildly enjoyable jape about an overprotective single mother whose doting 19-year-old son, nicknamed Lolo, inevitably sabotages all of her potential suitors 鈥 without her being aware of the sabotage. Her new beau, Jean-Ren茅 (Dany Boon), is his latest victim. It鈥檚 all meant to be funnier than it is. Grade: C+ (This film is not rated.)
