Here are book titles suggested by experts with the Great Books Foundation for parents to read with their tweens and teens.

11. "Farnheit 451" by Ray Bradbury

The dystopian novel was published in 1953 and is best for high school students and older. It tells of a fictional future world, where books are banned and all those found are burned. The storyline coincides with threats during the McCarthy Era of the 1950s in the US, when book burning was used as one of many ways to discourage ideas that dissented from mainstream political beliefs.
