Another Nicholas Sparks novel is coming to the big screen with the release of the movie 鈥淭he Longest Ride,鈥� which hits theaters on April 10.聽

鈥淩ide鈥� follows Sophia (Britt Robertson of 鈥淯nder the Dome鈥�), who meets a cowboy named Luke (鈥淔ury鈥� actor Scott Eastwood). The two hit it off but must get past various problems, including Luke's risky work, in order to be happy together. Meanwhile, a man named Ira Levinson (Alan Alda) is hurt in a car accident but is comforted by a mirage of his deceased wife who convinces him to stay awake. The film co-stars actors Jack Huston, Melissa Benoist, and Oona Chaplin and is being directed by George Tillman Jr., who previously helmed such films as 鈥淢en of Honor鈥� and 鈥淣otorious.鈥�

Sparks鈥� work was also the basis for such movies as 鈥淭he Notebook,鈥� 鈥淒ear John,鈥� and 鈥淪afe Haven,鈥� among others.聽"Notebook," which was released in 2004, is ranked at number 15 on a list of highest-grossing romantic dramas of all time created by the website , with "John" close behind it at number 16. 聽

The author told the website that he doesn鈥檛 think his movies are depicting relationships that wouldn鈥檛 be true to life.聽

鈥淟ong relationships are work, that鈥檚 it,鈥� Sparks said. 鈥淚f you find someone who is willing to work as hard as you are and who has the same end goal, the same ability to compromise and forgive, move on and support and all that, then, well, you鈥檝e got a good shot, but it鈥檚 still work. That鈥檚 what it is but it鈥檚 not unrealistic.鈥�

Meanwhile, Robertson said she also thinks the movie鈥檚 story reflects the theme of compromising.

鈥淚t鈥檚 about sacrifice and understanding the other person and where they鈥檙e coming from,鈥� the actress told the website Gurl. 鈥淪o I鈥檒l try to use that in my own life eventually.鈥澛�
