Kendra Wilkinson quits 'Splash.' Why?
Contestant Kendra Wilkinson quit the reality show 鈥淪plash鈥� on April 2, saying that she was unable to complete the high dive that was required.
鈥淚'm so sorry, everybody," Wilkinson during the show. "It's bittersweet. One thing I don't do is quit. This is the first time in my life I've quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.鈥�
Wilkinson said she was unable to dive from the board because of her fear of heights. On the show, she walked up to the diving board, which was 23 feet high, then said she was unable to go through with it.
When she said, 鈥淚 can鈥檛 do it,鈥� there were some booing heard in the crowd.
The reality star after the show, saying that she realized now that 鈥淪plash鈥� wasn鈥檛 a good fit for her.
鈥淚 got a lot of hate tonight but I鈥檒l take it,鈥� Wilkinson said on Twitter. 鈥淏ig mistake signing up for the show. Sorry I let you all down.鈥�
She said in a later tweet that she had actually planned to quit the show earlier, but got through the previous week鈥檚 episode.
鈥淚 was supposed to quit with last weeks dive but I didn't and did it,鈥� Wilkinson tweeted. 鈥淔elt amazing and it was a huge accomplishment to me and my family.鈥�
鈥淪plash鈥� debuted March 19 on ABC with contestants Wilkinson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Drake Bell, among others. The show requires celebrities to complete new dives, which become harder, each week.
Another contestant, Chuy Bravo, had previously withdrawn from the competition after he injured his heel. Two participants, 鈥�Cosby Show鈥� actress Keshia Knight Pulliam and Detroit Lions player Ndamukong Suh, have been eliminated so far, with seven contestants remaining, including soccer player Brandi Chastain, who is serving as Bravo鈥檚 replacement.
Wilkinson first came into the public eye for her role on the E! reality series 鈥淭he Girls Next Door,鈥� which focused on residents of the Playboy Mansion. She starred in the 鈥淕irls鈥� spin-off series 鈥淜endra鈥� and also competed on ABC鈥檚 鈥�Dancing with the Stars.鈥�
