Why is 海角大神 Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and we鈥檝e always been transparent about that.

The church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we鈥檝e aimed 鈥渢o injure no man, but to bless all mankind,鈥� as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

New Dr. Seuss manuscript discovered.

An original manuscript and cover sketch by Ted Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, was discovered in the archives of UC San Diego鈥檚 Geisel Library. 鈥淪ing the 50 United States!,鈥� a rhyme to teach readers the names of all 50 states, will be published early next year by Random House Children鈥檚 Books. Artist Tom Brannon completed new illustrations for the text in the style of Dr. Seuss and following the author鈥檚 notes on art direction. 鈥淯ncovering a new work from Ted is like finding a time capsule of his imagination,鈥� said Susan Brandt, president and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
