Walmart鈥檚 鈥淪ave Money, Live Better鈥 philosophy has struck again, this time by entering into a joint program with Humana Inc. to offer a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan for seniors. The charges a monthly premium of $14.80 to buy the insurance, which makes it the lowest Medicare prescription drug plan in the nation. The plan saves the typical Medicare beneficiary as much as $450 a year on premiums and costs less than half of the typical Part D plan. While the Walmart plan has a $310 annual deductible and does not cover the 鈥渄oughnut hole鈥 coverage gap, it is still a great deal for most consumers.
