'Unbroken' movie trailer shows more of the story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini

'Unbroken' is based on the book of the same name by Laura Hillenbrand.

A trailer for the film adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand鈥檚 nonfiction bestseller 鈥淯nbroken鈥� has been released.

鈥淯nbroken鈥� tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who competed in the 1936 Games and then served in World War II, eventually being captured by the Japanese and put in prisoner-of-war camp. Zamperini himself just died earlier this month.

The movie stars actor Jack O鈥機onnell, who appeared in the movie 鈥�300: Rise of an Empire鈥� and the UK TV show 鈥淪kins,鈥� as Zamperini and the film is directed by 鈥淢aleficent鈥� actress Angelina Jolie. 鈥淯nbroken鈥� co-stars 鈥淪tar Wars: Episode VII鈥� actor Domhnall Gleeson, Garrett Hedlund of 鈥淚nside Llewyn Davis,鈥� and 鈥淒ivergent鈥� actor Jai Courtney.聽

The trailer shows Zamperini鈥檚 childhood, his time competing in the Olympics, and his fight to survive after his plane crashed during World War II as well as his time in the Japanese internment camp. 鈥淯nbroken鈥� is set to be released on Dec. 25.聽
