'Sherlock' mini-episode will air via BBC service and online on Dec. 25

The mini-episode of 'Sherlock,' titled 'Many Happy Returns,' will be available online and via the BBC Red Button service in the UK.

Are you a UK fan who can鈥檛 wait for the debut of the third season of the BBC series 鈥淪herlock鈥�?

Then you鈥檙e getting one more Christmas present 鈥� according to , a mini-episode of the show titled 鈥淢any Happy Returns鈥� will be available online and via the BBC's Red Button service on Dec. 25, ahead of the show鈥檚 Jan. 1 debut in the UK. (The show鈥檚 airing its third season premiere in the US on Jan. 19.)聽

The BBC Red Button service is available through digital cable in the UK and Ireland.

According to the website , the synopsis for 鈥淩eturns鈥� reads, 鈥淪herlock has been gone for 2 years. But someone isn鈥檛 quite convinced that he鈥檚 dead....鈥�

No word on whether the mini-episode will air on PBS in the US.
