The New York Giants may be in the throes of one of their worst seasons in recent memory, but the team has certainly fielded many great players since entering the National Football League in 1925. So where does current quarterback Eli Manning, who is struggling during this challenging campaign, rank among the franchise’s all-time greats, fans might ask. Sports historian Robert W. Cohen places him seventh, citing, of course, Manning’s work in winning two Super Bowls. The top spot, however, is awarded to linebacker Lawrence Taylor, who is credited with revolutionizing his position while starring on two championship teams in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Each of the team’s greats is profiled, including current TV personality Michael Strahan, who is No. 5 on the list.
