The newest fictional work from "Let the Great World Spin" writer McCann is the short fiction collection "Thirteen," which tells the stories of, among others, a nun who sees news about her attacker and a mother whose son vanishes while swimming. Nelson says she enjoyed the entire book but found in particular that "the title piece is really exceptional."
