Marni鈥檚 mother was executed by her own brother for going into the forest and returning with a child who was half dragon and half human. She wants none of it and finds herself increasingly drawn to the freedom and wildness offered by escape into the forest. Hahn鈥檚 fantasy world is richly detailed; her prose is lyrical and lovely.
