The film earned nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for star Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones, Best Supporting Actress for Sally Field, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Music (Original Score), Best Production Design and Best Sound Mixing.
