Emma Clarke, an actor who also trained herself to do voiceover work, was chosen after a lengthy process as the actor whose voice would be used for announcements on the London subway system. Clarke remembers recording the lines that would be played if there was a minor problem, such as "This train will not stop at...." "I was very conscious when I read those lines not to sound like I was gloating, or like I sounded smug," she said. "It is important to sound clear and empathetic, authoritative and somehow nurturing at the same time."
