Born on Nov. 20, 2008 to pop musician Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, aka Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III, Bronx Mowgli is the former couple鈥檚 first child.
The couple announced they were expecting a child in May. 鈥淚 would love to have a big family one day,鈥� Ms. Simpson, little sister of pop star Jessica Simpson, told People. Mr. Wentz added, 鈥淎 big soccer team or a band!鈥�
Baby boy Bronx was named for the famous New York borough. 鈥淚t comes back to a very specific story between me and my wife [and not] because either of us were trying to give our son street cred,鈥� Wentz told Time in a 2008 interview. 鈥淎t the end of the day, we like the name. Brooklyn gets a lot of love. It鈥檚 time for the Bronx to get a little bit of love too.鈥�
Fans speculate that 鈥淢owgli鈥� is from Rudyard Kipling鈥檚 鈥淭he Jungle Book.鈥�
